CARHARTT WIP

Founded in 1889 by Hamilton Carhartt in Detroit, Carhartt began producing overalls and other types of workwear garments from denim fabric and canvas, which eventually became the brand’s trademark fabric. WIP stands for work in progress, and Carhartt WIP offers a refined and reimagined interpretation of its classic American heritage. Today the brand is very involved with European skateboarding and BMX, as well as the urban scene, which is reflected in the more daring graphics incorporated in the many of the company’s design. Carhartt WIP’s principle function is thus to allow for a modernized aesthetic that establishes a more expansive and progressive outlook on contemporary men’s fashion while emphasizing its distinct, American heritage.
